2002 Conference Registration
Early registration for the 2002 Conference is $125 for regular UDC members and $75 for student and low income UDC members. Annual membership for the UDC is $50 regular and $25 student/low income. You can join us by printing and sending a membership form. If you fail to register for the conference before August 1, 2002 (extended to August 20, 2002), you will have to pay a late charge ($150 regular / $100 student).
Your conference registration fee includes;
• A welcoming reciption on Thursday, October 10
• Breakfast provided by the Days Inn restaurant for hotel guests Friday (the 11th) morning
• Lunch for hotel guests Friday afternoon
• A reception following Tony Buba’s presentation Friday evening
• A continental breakfast preceding the Dallas Smythe Award Ceremony with Edward S. Herman on Saturday, October 12
• Lunch and dinner on Saturday provided by Day’s Inn guests
• Admission to the dance: Cliff Turner and the Afterburners will rock out Saturday night
• Sunday morning breakfast before the business meeting. Please consider the Sunday morning meeting when making your travel plans!
Travel
Those of you who are driving from within Pennsylvania probably don’t need directions–but don’t hesitate to call Ron and Jeanne if you get lost.
Yes! You can fly to State College! The airport is called the Univeristy Park Airport, but it is in State College, not University Park (which is literally the Penn State campus); its code is UNV. Book flights with United Airlines, US Air or Northwest Airlines to land in State College. There’s a courtesy phone with direct lines to the Days Inn and also Handy Taxi in the baggage claim area.
State College also has a bus station. The train does not stop in town.
Accommodations
The Days Inn is located at 240 South Pugh Street in State College, Pennsylvania. You’ll like it; it’s right in the middle of town. Their number is 814-238-8454. Conference rates are $76 / Single and $86 Double, if you call before September 10, 2002. After that date, you may not receive the conference rate. Check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out is noon. Be sure to identify yourself as a UDC-er, even if you register after September 10.
